Kris Murray was elected to the Anaheim City Council in November 2010. Murray represents the City of Anaheim as a board member of the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California (MWD), Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG) Regional Council, Orange County Council of Governments (OCCOG), Transportation Corridor Agencies (TCA), Support Our Anaheim Resort Advisory (SOAR) Board, Anaheim MUZEO Board of Directors, Orange County Taxpayers (OCTax), and the California Women’s Leadership Association (CWLA).
Previously, Murray served several years as a Board Member of the Anaheim Public Utility and as a member of the Executive Committee of the Southern California Association of Governments and was Vice President of the Orange County Business Council where she established OCMoves, a public-private initiative led by business leaders, public agencies and elected officials devoted to improving county and regional transportation infrastructure. Murray has over 20 years professional experience in the transportation industry representing both private and public sectors to improve mobility in Southern California.
Murray earned a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from California State University, Long Beach and a Master’s Certificate in Transportation Management from the Mineta Transportation Institute at San Jose State University. Murray and her husband, Steve Murray, have one young son and live in Anaheim.
